ROBERT DE NIRO MINI-SERIES FILMING IN DC TODAY
THE LINCOLN PARK NEWSLETTER: Find out where to see De Niro. Plus, nice work National Parks Service. Also, beware rat poison in the park.
BEWARE RAT POISON IN LINCOLN PARK
NO DIGGING, YA DIG?
DC Health was in the park on Saturday burying a powdery rodenticide in rat burrows. So if your dog or child digs, don’t let them dig in Lincoln Park. If they get into the poison, take them to the emergency room and get a dose of Vitamin K, a health worker said.

NETFLIX PRODUCTION COMES TO DC
Conspiratorial mini-series thriller films downtown
“Zero Day,” a conspiracy thriller mini-series for Netflix, is filming in the District of Columbia today through Tuesday, DC police said in a traffic alert.
Robert De Niro is starring in and executive producing the series, with Angela Bassett (Black Panther: Wakanda Forever), Dan Stevens (Legion), Matthew Modine (Stranger Things), Bill Camp (The Queen’s Gambit) and McKinley Belcher III (Ozark) among the new cast revealed for Netflix‘s “Zero Day.”
The limited series also will also feature Gaby Hoffman (Transparent), Clark Gregg (Painkiller) and Mark Ivanir (Away) in guest-starring roles.
According to press handouts, “Zero Day” aims to answer how "we find truth in a world in crisis." It focuses on finding that solution when forces beyond our control are destroying society and explores whether the unseen forces are actually caused by society's own actions or "perhaps even of our own imagining?"
The six-episode series tackles its subject matter through a conspiracy lens, using real-life theories and other subterfuge as a basis, the PR babble says. Based on a prior character description for De Niro's character George Mullen, the series' premise starts with a "devastating global cyberattack," press reports say.
To accommodate the filming, there will be parking restrictions, intermittent traffic shutdowns and street closures. Here are the street closures and Emergency No Parking:

When: Saturday, June 29, 11:00 a.m.
Location: St. Monica and St. James Episcopal Church, 222 8th Street, NE, Washington, DC 20002
Details: Following the Funeral Mass in the Church, the Reception will be in the Church Parish Hall. In honor of Rick, it will be a potluck, similar to our Alley Parties, but you won't have to bring libations (I'll cover that). I hope you will join me in hosting the reception in Rick's honor.
I am looking for assistance in several areas, such as providing a dish to share, helping with food setup before and cleanup after the reception, flower arrangements and putting together a slideshow of Rick's amazing life. chellie@hamecs.com
I'll get back to you with points of contact for these requests.
Attire: Please dress in whatever makes you happy - this is a Celebration of Rick!
I hope you all can join me to say farewell to Rick, our "Mayor of 10th Street NE".
THANK YOU NPS CARPENTERS
Missing and loose slats were replaced by the National Park Service this week. The repairs follow reports from Gracie Mills of broken slats. The report was swiftly followed by an NPS work order and the slats fixed last week.

THE EXCLUSIVE NEWSLETTER SERVING LINCOLN PARK
*People Living Actively Near Their Site *
All subscribers to The Lincoln Park Newsletter become automatic members of FRIENDS OF CAPITOL HILL PARKS, the largest volunteer charitable organization serving Lincoln Park, Washington, DC, Mary Farran, president, chairwoman, CEO and Lincoln Park mayor-for-life.
Friends of Capitol Hill Parks aka PLANTS is Lincoln Park’s largest charitable organization and conducts its activities in coordination with the National Park Service, which controls and manages Lincoln Park. PLANTS’ partnership with NPS began in 2017, making it the oldest Friends group serving Lincoln Park. We accept no money so we are not required to be a 501(c)(3) organization. That way you also don’t have to worry about lack of accountability and wonder where your money goes. There is no overhead. All contributions are in-kind — flowers and plants purchased by members and service hours.
Member requirements are simple: Be nice to the park and nice to each other. Pick up trash when you see it and pick up after yourself, your child and your pet. Call the Park Service or Park Police if you see a problem.
If you do not want to be a free member of FRIENDS OF CAPITOL HILL PARKS, you can resign and subscribe to the newsletter and be a non-member subscriber by signing up for a very expensive, exclusive, premium over-priced pay subscription. Dogecoin is accepted. In truth, the newsletter does not really accept any money. Which is another way of saying you are not allowed to give cash to the group.
We also hold no raffles because that would require, under DC law, getting a permit. Really. What a pain. It is a violation to do so without a permit.
