A philanthropist who in August returned from delivering medical supplies to Haiti, the victim underwent successful surgery to repair the injury.
Video acquired by the police show that, after the attack, the suspect vehicle was driven down Pennsylvania Avenue SE to a second CVS Pharmacy on 12th Street SE. The truck parked in front and the suspect walked into the store, picked up a prescription in his own name, and then returned to the suspect truck.
CVS provided the name of the suspect and his address.
Police matched his name, quality photos and surveillance photos and identified Barrett as a suspect. On Monday, police arrived at his home and handcuffed him when he opened his door.
